Power Punch Tips

You can use a piece of thin (1/32”) clear, vinyl plastic on the surface of your Power Punch table to help hold punches firmly in place and to protect the Power Punch table from scratches.  Cut a 4” x 4” square piece and lay it on top of the table.  No glue or tape is needed – simply lay it on the surface of the table and smoothen it out.  It will readily cling to the surface of the table.  Vinyl is available at most hardware stores and is very inexpensive.

Please do not flex the templates when installing or removing them from the table.  The templates are brittle and can snap.  If you find that one particular template is too tight you may enlarge the alignment hole in the template slightly with a small round file or sandpaper.

You may adjust the handle to modify (loosen or tighten) the templates for the regular Power Punch (PP200) as follows:

     1.    Loosen the two screws that hold the handle in place

     2.    Install a template on the table (use the “tightest fitting” template)

     3.    Center the template on the table and gently push the handle bracket up against the template’s edge

     4.    Carefully tighten the screws.  Take care not to over-tighten.

Not all punches should be used upside-down.  Prior to using a punch upside down, please make sure that all four corners of the black plastic plunger are able to completely span the opening and sit firmly on the base of the punch.  Some of the corner punches should not be used upside down for this reason.  (They can of course be used right side up since there are template patterns for all of these punch types).

To align patterns with exceptionally even spacing use the horizontal grid lines on the Power Punch table to keep the paper parallel to the punch, and sight down the outside edge of the punch body.  Index the paper after each consecutive punch so that the same reference point on the punch pattern is visible at the edge of the punch body.  You can use this technique to create wonderful new patterns and borders for your scrapbook pages.
